Closet Organizing Part 6 with professional organizer Scott Roewer

How many times have you said, my closet just isnt big enough? Well the truth of the matter is, your closet is probably large enough, you simply have too much stuff! Ive worked in a few hundred closets, and I find people use the wrong accessories to store their clothes, and dont take the time to fold or hang items. Instead, they shove the clothes on shelves and expect their clothes to not be damage, wrinkle free, and they expect to find a ready to wear outfit in a timely manner.

In this sixth video of my how to organize your closet like a pro series, Ill demonstrate the steps you can follow to sort your clothes. I also talk about the proper types of hangers to use, and how to avoid some common mistakes people make in their closets. Watching this video may just save your favorite outfit from damage! Thomas – there is no 'right or wrong' answer on which hangers to use. I personally do not use the 'huggable' hangers in my closet, but do with many clients. They are small & have a covering that makes them 'non-slip'. I use a combination of wood and plastic in my closet.

Brady – why do you suggest hanging as much as possible is the 'worst rule ever'. Of course, if you don't have the space, or the clothing is not appropriate to hang (like sweaters or vintage clothing that could be damaged), we don't recommend hanging everything. I'm interested in your opinion since your comment was harsh.

I'm from Germany and I wonder what "huggable hangers" are. Are they just really small hangers?

If so, don't they give a "sharp edge" on the shoulders of the shirts?

How do you decide between the wood hangers and the huggable ones?
