1474658351_maxresdefault.jpg

Working on the ninth category in the Komono section, I have broken it down into subcategories. This is the third of six and addresses all the ”Baking’ items in all the areas of our kitchen. Take a look!

The list of subcategories include:
1. FOOD
2. COOKING (pots/pans/small appliances/cooking utensils)
3. BAKING (mixing bowls/small appliances/measuring tools/baking pans)
4. EATING (dishes/eating utensils/serving dishes/placemats/napkins)
5. DRINKING (glassware/water bottles/juice/coffee and tea items)
6. FOOD STORAGE (all plastic containers)

Next video: Kitchen series – BAKING

The Series:
Follow along, even better, join me, as I complete the KonMari method of tidying and organizing our entire home. With three children age four and under, a dog, and a husband this would normally be a seemingly impossible undertaking, yet with insightful know-how of best-selling author Marie Kondo I know it will be manageable and even better, exciting and life changing.

This series will take you through the entire method described and explained in Kondo’s book titled, ‘The Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up” through my vlog as I go!

**New videos will be posted, minimally, once a week as I complete the method step-by-step. I will be “real”, honest and forthcoming with how I am fairing out.

I’d love for you to join me in this journey – it will be fun and motivating. All positive, constructive and well-intended comments are welcome in the spirit of helping myself and others during this series! I would love your input, suggestions, feedback – including how I’m organizing this series.

Cheers to better, more organized days ahead!

With Organization Comes Clarity: Lifestyle Practice

Published by:

1474635628_maxresdefault.jpg

Simple Instructions:

1. Each day, organize or clean up one space in your life.
2. The space can be physical, like a desk, closet, or countertop, or it can be virtual, like your email inbox or Evernote notebooks.
3. You may also pick a large project, like a closet or a garage, and tackle a small part of it for at least 10 minutes each day.
4. The space does not need to be large and it need not take long (not even 10 minutes) to clear up.

Why Is This Practice Important?

There are lots of small things we let stand in the way of making the big moves in life. It helps a lot to have clarity around you when you’re making important choices.

Cluttered physical, virtual, and even mental spaces provide unnecessary obstacles to doing what matters to you. Feeling like you’re surrounded by a mess or chaos can keep you in “putting out fires” mode — the feeling that the little things right in front of you are stopping you from starting the important things.

When your spaces are clear, new paths can open up. Waking up or living in an uncluttered reality can provide a sense of calm and leave room for creativity and productive action to flow.

Do you ever reach the point where your closet is starting to overload with shoeboxes and you need to find another place to fit your shoes?

Well that’s me! My longer jackets are starting to get squished between my shoeboxes and that’s when I realized I needed an alternative. Something I’ve always wanted in my room was a separate shoe closet, focusing just on my shoes. I started off by searching for the most affordable way to build that dream shoe closet I wanted, and after a few days of shopping I had come across a solution.
