We’ve all been there: You’re late for work and can’t find anything you actually want to wear. But keeping your clothing in its proper place doesn’t have to be so hard. Professional organizer Tova Weinstock has a boatload of tips for getting your closet under control—for good. She told Elle Magazine that the most important thing is to only have things in your closet that you actually wear. Also, use matching hangers for uniformity, and hang your clothes in the same direction. And when you remove clothing from hangers to get dressed, move your empty hangers to the front. That makes hanging up your clothing nice and simple. Organize by category and put your least-worn items at the back. Hang up your necklaces, and use hooks for bags and scarves. And have a great shoe storage system–a rack, at the very least. Finally, always be sure to never let your clothes hit the floor–hang them, fold them, or put them in the laundry!
Here’s a little glimpse (more like a big fat glimpse) of how I organize my closet! This wasn’t really a tutorial, it was more for fun since I was organizing it anyway. I hope you guys like it! Remember to thumbs up and subscribe if you want to see more of me ; ) … too creepy?
The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin:
I finally have the kids clothes organized, folded and put away in their dressers! I also show you how to make a DIY drawer divider. I am having so much success using the KonMari method so far. I am almost done with the clothing category and it feels so great to have purged so much clutter from our home. I am so excited to go through the next categories and get rid of even more stuff!
