After reading “The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo, I have been inspired to declutter and simplify our home. My husband and I have found value and importance in living a minimalist lifestyle and we are making changes in our lives everyday to embrace this new way of living.
In this video I am going to tackle the kid’s playroom. I already did a large purge at the beginning of the year after Christmas and all three of their birthdays. I would encourage you to read “Simplicity Parenting” by Kim John Payne. It was an extremely valuable read, it not only provided specific steps in how to simplify our children’s lives, but also the IMPORTANCE in why we should do so.
In this video I begin my journey to becoming clutter free. I am starting with the first category, clothes, in Marie Kondo’s book titled “‘The Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up”. Watch as I purge my closet of all the clothes that no longer spark joy in my life!
This is the first step of many in becoming clutter free. Make sure you come back next Thursday for a DYI video on how to make your own drawer dividers, as well as an update on my dresser organization and folding techniques.
Come along this journey with me! Get yourself a copy of her book and start working towards a clutter free house! Thanks for watching!

Everyone has been talking about a new book titled The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo (KonMari). She’s a professional organization consultant with tons of tips on making the best of your space. So I put her methods to the test and reviewed them in this video. Enjoy!
Here is a review of the amazing book by MARIE KONDO : The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. It has helped me clean up and organize not only my house, but my life. The concept is simple. The item brings joy or it’s OUT. …. I will take you on a tour of my bedroom closet and show you the Konmarie system in real time…
After recently moving, I realized that I was dragging 4 boxes of family papers, trinkets and housewares …since my fathers death in 2011, I also own boxes of things from my grandmother that my mother had inherited…3 generations of sentimental clutter to haul around! While some things are nostalgic, most of the contents were not to my taste or held little value to my lifestyle or interests.
I read somewhere that you should take a photo of an item just before you let it go. That way, you have “it” in some form. Time to let go, but can I release family heirlooms to eBay? Can I donate Gram’s gravy boat to Goodwill? Is Mom’s geneology book still in my basement? Find out in this video…full of silliness and for the first time on YouTube…my tears… GET READY TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

I recently read Marie Kondo’s book titled “‘The Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up”. I have decided it is time to get the house organized and get rid of the clutter! I have already completed the clothing and book category, where I purged all of the unnecessary clutter that did not spark joy in my life. In this video I will show you how I completed the decluttering of all our papers and how I organize my papers now according to the KonMari Method.
If you haven’t already read the book I would definitely encourage you to do so. It is very inspiring. I will be following her method to do a complete purge of all the unnecessary clutter in my home, I hope you stick around to see the transformation.
The next video will be a purge of my children’s playroom. I am so excited to tackle this category, we have too many toys!
