Today I used the KonMari method to declutter my valuables. Because this was a fairly vague category I stuck to Marie Kondo’s examples of passports and credit cards etc. I managed to get rid of quite a few points cards, store cards etc that I was not using on a regular basis and I was able to let go of one purse which had been used for storage.
If you are using the KonMari method I would love to hear how you are getting on!

There has been a lot of talk about the KonMari method. The idea is to remove everything from your life that does not bring you joy. I have been following this method, but have added a few things of my own — because it’s about sustainability. If I am not going to continue the organization after the first time I do it, there is no point.
It is important to change any tips you like to fit your life. In this video, I show you how I organize my closet — based on KonMari — but how I changed it to fit my own life.
Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions! And let me know, how do you organize your closet?

I’m still tackling the kitchen in this episode of my Konmari Declutter series, this time I’m doing the part I was dreading the most, eating and cooking paraphernalia.

In this video I am showing you how I organized my wardrobe using the KonMari method, trying to pursue even more my journey towards minimalism and simple living.
I was already working with a downsized wardrobe, but I was still able to purge some items during the process! All the items I have are things I truly love and wear all year round (except for very seasonal clothes like winter coat or boots).
KonMari organization tips:
+02:56 #1: Hang all the clothes that look “happier” on hangers
+03:16 #2: Hang your clothes so they “rise” to the right
+05:57 #3: Store bags inside of other bags
+06:51 #4: Don’t buy storage solutions before organizing your things, try to use what you already have
+08:11 #5: Store things vertically
Watch my previous video about the book “The life-changing magic of tidying up” by Marie Kondo:
My blog: http://mylifeasjennytraeumerin.wordpress.com
“The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing” by Marie Kondo is the Konmari method in high house tidy action and is the prequel to “Spark Joy”. First I listend to the audiobook – but that wasn’t enough – because I needed professional help. So I went and bought the book and have turned it into a study – and as you shall see in the video, it’s all worth it.

DIY natural bathroom cleaner: 2 parts water, 1 part distilled white vinegar and 10 drops tea tree oil. Vinegar and tea tree oil are powerful natural disinfectants and cleaners! It will smell like vinegar at first but the smell dissipates once dry.
